Ill go first here, lol bathing Otis is a nightmare! I tried toys and cookies, I tries a kong, I tried smearing peanut butter on the walls and I even tried
smearing Dog Gravy on the walls so he would get in but nope. I tried putting his food in the tub, and he looked at me as if to say "we don't eat in
the tub, don't be silly" so yes I now use puppy cloths! lol

ok reckon i will go next... Bru is pretty good about getting a bath.. he will hop right in, but in all honesty he hates a bath.. once its time for him to get
wet. I get this look like do i really have to do this mom? Please, please, please dont make me.
For the longest time he was dealing with dandruff... So i went and got some oatmeal bath soap by hartz and lessened his baths from once a wk to about every 2 wks. If he doesnt get a bath atleast every 2 wks he starts to stink. Some have told me its cause of his food, but I dont think thats it.. I think i was just bathing him to much.. I will say this much the best way to bath an almost full grown great dane is with one of those removable shower heads. At our last place we had one.. This place we dont. And i almost dread bathing him now..lol It takes forever when u have to take a cup to rinse all the soap off of them.. roflmao! Speaking of today he is getting a bath.. lol "the best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen
or even touched... for they must be felt with the heart to truely see, feel and appreciate them.." Paula & Bru

I have found that using one of those plastic kiddy pools works well....since when we have bathtime in the house it's a nightmare! First you have to get
them into the tub,(that's tuff when your dealing with Zeek who is 175-180 lbs) soaped, rinsed ..oh yeah you have to keep them in the tub also...haha By
using a pool we can make it kind of a water game and not get the house all wet! Now since I live in Ohio, the pool idea only works in the summer, but I try
really hard not to have to bath them in the winter ; )
Paula's idea of the removable shower head is def the way to go!! my sister has a Newfoundland and when they built there house they installed a huge shower, I call it a community shower..lol) so that Huxley just has to walk into it ....turn on the shower and your done! I'm not that fortuneate...we have a tiny bathroom with a reg size tub! |

Well, Doug wont do it so it is up to me to bath Duke. I hold Duke on my lap and take shower with him. I wet him first, turn the shower off, soap him up while
he try to get away from me these days. I talk to him while Im washing him. It seems to calm him down. Im not sure how Im going to wash him when he get little
bigger. lol
